Sixth day of 40th Fajr Film Festival under spotlight

Two features were screened on the 6th day of Fajr Film Festival on Saturday.

Two features were screened on the Sixth day of the Fajr Film Festival (FFF), which has been underway in the Iranian capital Tehran since Monday.

The movies which were screened on Friday are ‘Henas’ and ‘Golden Night’.

Directed by Hossein Darabi, ‘Henas’ is a 107-minute movie that tells the story of a terrorism operation against an Iranian nuclear scientists. Its cast list includes Merila Zarei, Behrouz Shoeibi, and Vahid Rahbani.

Produced by Ebrahim Hatamikian and directed by his son Yousef, ‘Golden Night’ is a 102-minute movie that shows a typical Iranian family while an incident messes the routine of the family and leads to a chaos. The cast list includes Hassan Majouni, Yekta Nasser, Maryam Saadat, Behnaz Jafari, Masoud Keramati, Sogol Khaliq, and Sina Razani

A lineup of 22 films, most made by the new generation of Iranian filmmakers, are competing at the main competition section of the FFF

Presided over by Masoud Naqqashzadeh, the 40th FFF is taking place in Tehran on February 1-11, 2022 in two cultural and competitive sections.

The FFF coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Since its establishment in 1982, the FFF has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.
